Sketching Concepts
For me, one of the most interesting exercise in design thinking process is sketching. I find sketching to be a great tool to communicate preliminary ideas in the quickest format. Following concept sketches was created for Kantar Innovation Lab’s project for their client that is a leader in food and beverage industry.

One of the commissioned project from Kantar Innovation Lab was for a national FMCG leader. The exercise involved creating low cost solutions for insecticides to be used by the Indian population living in rural areas. The following concept sketches were generated for the ideas that required industrial design solutions.

The concept illustrates a non-electric liquid vaporiser solution that uses briquette to heat the wick and allows the insecticide active to rise through capillary action and vaporise
Above concept illustrates how a mobile phone’s audio jack could be used to heat up a filament that helps in vaporising the insecticide active that comes in a capsule format
Illustration above shows a use of fumigation rods (with insecticide active) that could be manually ignited and used in the areas of insects infestation
Above illustration shows use of insecticide in form of stickable cubes that allows slow release of the active without the need of heat or ignition
